BrainVoyager v23.0
Overview of Quality Assurance Tools
Despite increased robustness and sophistication of neuroimaging analysis tools, it is important to validate that complex analyses are applied as intended. This is especially important when running processing pipelines automatically, e.g. via scripts, over rich MRI data sets. BrainVoyager QX 2.2 is the first version that explicitly focuses on providing quality assurance (QA) tools to check data quality and applicability of analysis steps. This version focuses on the following QA tools:
- Verification of spatial coverage of functional data that is especially relevant when performing group (multi-subject) GLM analyses.
- Adding movies to the motion correction preprocessing tool that helps to check the effect of head motion and its correction on the data.
- QA reports with figures to judge the quality of anatomical (IIHC, MNI transformation) and functional (e.g. motion, FMR-VMR alignment) preprocessing when running data analysis pipelines using the Data Analysis Manager
- Introducing a vertex movement tool for CBA analyses that help to identify potential problems with individual cortex hemispheres besides allowing to investigate vertex movement to produce interesting scientific results.
It is planned to add more QA tools in future releases such as tests to check prerequisites of (statistical) analyses and tools that quantify and visualize the (dis)similarity of maps across subjects.
